Was walking through one of the big box building centers last night and noticed a Coleman sump pump. I'm wondering if you guys see any use for it in an AP application. Specs are 1/6 HP, 1225 GPM, epoxy coated cast aluminum housing, lifetime warranty, $89US. The Coleman site (link below) says it's made by Franklin Electric, which is a pretty well respected manufacturer of submersible well pumps. Looking at their site (link below), it looks like it is their model # 5-MSP. They say it's designed for continuous duty and is rated at 380 watts. Seems like a lot of pump to me, at a reasonable price, with a great warranty. Any opinions? First look.. seemed fine... But I'm a bit concerned as to the heading "oil filled".... generally we would avoid such pumps.. as any seepage of oil may well kill the fish... |

hmmm bit heavy on the wattage side too.. theres better pumps out there that have solid road testing. |
