I have an opportunity to buy some cheap IBCs which contained liquid rubber of the kind used for sealing tyres. I don't have a better description than that, there's no record of the specific chemical used. Apparently the tanks have been cleaned with caustic soda, but are still a bit stained. The stuff doesn't sound toxic from what info I can find on it. I don't know much about chemicals, what do you guys reckon? |

No tag left on the side of the cage? I was mechanic for 15 years and that glue for patching tires would give you quite a buzz! Liquid rubber sometimes called bead sealer? That stuff, too would fry nose hairs and burned very easily. If no info on the side of the tank, you might want to ask around some more. Maybe a garage can show you a smaller can with some chemical names? |

Thanks Jimbo. No tag. That all sounds pretty nasty, but I found some for not much more $ which only had soya sauce in them. Looking to build an airlift system similar to the one you're working on, hopefully getting those IBCs in another week. |
