Post subject:  Multiple Air Pumps or One Big One.

Apart from the extra cost is there any disadvantage to using multiple lower watt air pumps instead of a large one. This would avoid the single point of failure.

I guess the same could be said for water pumps also.

I'm running dual Air-pumps..

I think Ryan Runs multiple airpump's..

I'm not sure what the other will say..

If one does not have a backup, and the air pump dies, it is possible to use some of the water from the water pump to spary on top of the tank temprarily till the new one arrives.

But, I am not going to take that chance. I have one AAPA110L in the box right now, and will order a back up today. The same with my water pump. I will order the second Reeflo Snapper Gold Pump, 2,600 GPH
today.

Fish Tank is almost ready for water, but I have not made any grew beds yet. Changed my plans a bit.
