Just wondering, can I use 2 IBC's as fishtanks so I get a 2000L FT, and how would I plum this in? |

would you plumb the two IBC FT together? or treat them as separate units, and each have a SLO going to the GBs? |

I would treat them as one unit. I would like to grow marron and fish and also have the opportunity to upgrade in the future to have fruit barrels and also a flower planter box. |

You will find examples of both being done on the forum. One big advantage in treating them as 2 is that if something happens to one of them you only loose half. (i.e. Disease, pipe failure etc) I am sure someone with more experience will chime in, but both are possible and will work. |

I'm all for this approach, as I think it'll be a biatch to plumb two IBC together and separate with SS/plastic mesh (if you are attempting to get the flexiblity of cultivating multiple species) and attempt to stabilise volumes that way. SLOs -> GBs -> a common ST, basically will mix the water in there (temperature/nutrients etc) anyway. |

I have plumbed 2 IBCs Fish tanks together and have 2 individual SLO's running to a common line to the Grow beds. There is 1 pic in my thread that sort os show what I have done. http://www.backyardaquaponics.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=11052&start=15 Sorry for the large pic size.... |
