So at Lowes they have their old stock on sale and one pump is half off which is 40 buck. The pump is an inline pond pump up to 1200 gallons. However it does come with a UV light but it is removable. Would this be ok to use on my system that i plan on building in a month or so (300 gallon system which i will post about later this week when i talk to my family)

Hey BH

I use a pool pump on my greenhouse system....

if your planning CF then it is overkill, but F&D it would be ok.... especially if your planning
expansion as I am....

one thing you may need to do (if you have a ST) is to put a bypass on it and re-direct some of the
volume back to the ST which adds more DO

I was leaning toward CF. what kind of flow would be ideal? In relation to FT/ GB/ Sump? Would redirecting some of the water bak into the sump be ok because hopefully I will expand

You can't just put a pump up and ask is this ok.. You need to put up the complete Figure..

volume Pumped..
Power used..
max head height..

Just putting up inline 1200gal pump tells us nothing..

If you provided the figure of say..
1200gal/h
40watts
3m head..

That gives us a better way to say if it is worth the money..
For all we know it might be something like :--
1200gal/h 400w 1.5m head..

In that case I would say.. No way..

You need to provide more details...
