WHich would be your pick and why, IM leaning towards the ebay one

The ebay one uses less power and puts out more air, I would think costs are about the same....

They're supposedly the same pump, don't know why the specs would be different.. Having ordered some stuff from guppys before, the ebay is probably cheaper freight as well, and will take about the same amount of time to get there..

Does anyone know of a quiet air pump as my AP system is close to the bedrooms? Was looking at the resun 8800 with battery ackup but dont know how noisy they are.

Also the ebay one looks Ok

I run a Pond One O2Plus Air Pump 4000. Whisper quiet, but I am on my second one in 6 months due to a small part in the diaphragm wearing out.

Replacement diaphragms are $20 each - requires 2.

Speaking with the company I purchased them off they tell me that the 4000 seems to suffer from this problem, but the 8000 does not. In fact they run the 8000 and 12000 themselves for over 12 months now.

The 4000 uses 20 watts and pumps 2100 litres of air per hour.

The 8000 uses 47 watts and pumps 4200 litres of air per hour.

Many people on here swear by the ACO Air Pumps. I will look at them when I relocate and dont have a neighbour - my current air pump sits right next to my next door neighbours master bed room.

My ACO-008 12 outlet air pump... sat beneath my bedroom... and about 6 mtrs from the neighbours bedroom...

They never complained about the low hum... and unless I opened the window and stuck my head out... I couldn't hear it...

They really aren't that loud... now the Hailea pumps, very similar... can be quite loud... and they don't pump air down past about 4-500mm anyway...

Yeah pump will be 2 mt from out bedromm and about 4 from the neighbours as it is down the side of the house.

Question, I started reading about airstones and got a bit overwhelmed when people started talking about back pressure etc, what air stones would suit that pump?

try to find Airstones that don't crumble over time..

I'm still Looking for good one's..

I've used air stones like these before and found them to be really good. You pay a little more, but they last really well...

I have a mixture or 50mm 'ball' airstones and the one pictured at the very top of EB's pic. The long cylindrical ones seem to put out much more air.

Thought id post a follow up.

Pump arrived, the 240v adapter sucks and i had to tweak it to make it actually stay in. Think i will do a plug conversion on it!

Got the airstones i linked to above. They are awesome, small bubbles.

Just need to build another system so i can use the airstones in that a bit more. The water in my current ibc is moving a fair bit.

Nothing like a new air pump roo. Kinda gives you a feeling of safety. Good to have good water movement too. Just remember you dont need to have the stones on the bottom and create any unnecessary head.

I too am interested in air pumps for an air lift system. I was looking on Amazon and have found quite a few. I was looking at one like this one in the link below.

Are these types of pumps durable? Would a pump like this work well for a small airlift system? The only real complaint I have seen about these are that they are apparently loud. How load are they exactly? Too loud that they would irritate the neighbors?
