Hey guys just looking at what paints I should use for the outside of my IBC's. Realise they wont come into contact with the water but what works best with th plastic surface? Also have some fibreglass tanks, so again what would work best for the outside? also looking at something for the inside, to tidy up if it wont break the bank.... start off on the right foot

I've had good results with Solagard as it is designed to be out in the sun and I have used it on a number of othersurfaces, not IBCs though. The instructions on the side of the tin usually cover that information, as does a trip to the hardware store and a chat with the paint specialist. |

Paffoh painted his gutters and other things with Solagard Low Sheen... and has had problems... The MSDS raises concerns as to the "motility" of constituent compounds... and more particularly... the "persistancy" of Titanium Dioxide... which is listed as "carcenogenic"... |

Just use a indoor/outdoor water based paint. If you are concernd about it coming off use a plastic primer first. |

Why not paint the inside of the fibreglass tank's with either a pond paint..[check the MSDS first thou] or if you are worried about that.. - Paint the insides of the fibreglass tanks with a safe Gel coat..[Ask I can't remember which Gel coat is safe..] Juergen |
