Hi all and all the best for 2012 Just wondering what volume sump I will need. I have two 330L growbeds. I have placed one 200L barrel under one of the growbeds. Wondering if I should get a second 200L barrel sump for the second growbed or to plumb both growbeds into the one 200L sump. I have the standpipe height set at approx 260mm and grow beds are approx 1 x 1.1 msq. I guess the question is - how much percentage of volume does the media take up? Does the media take up 60% - 70% of volume? Thank you in advance for your advice and help Pat |

Work on 50% , so you will need 330L of sump plus enough to cover the pump so 400L or so |

Hey Pat.... How are you running the system and how is it set up? That can make a big difference.. Any photos? |

I've found that water has been 35% of the growbed volume.. Either way you'd probably need the second barrel to keep the water level high enough for the pump to work.. |
