Hi all and all the best for 2012 :wave1:

Just wondering what volume sump I will need. I have two 330L growbeds. I have placed one 200L barrel under one of the growbeds. Wondering if I should get a second 200L barrel sump for the second growbed or to plumb both growbeds into the one 200L sump. I have the standpipe height set at approx 260mm and grow beds are approx 1 x 1.1 msq.
I guess the question is - how much percentage of volume does the media take up? Does the media take up 60% - 70% of volume? :dontknow:

Thank you in advance for your advice and help :thumbright:

Pat

Work on 50% , so you will need 330L of sump plus enough to cover the pump so 400L or so

Hey Pat....

How are you running the system and how is it set up? That can make a big difference.. Any photos?

I've found that water has been 35% of the growbed volume.. Either way you'd probably need the second barrel to keep the water level high enough for the pump to work..
