| Post subject: | Question about non return valve alternative |
hi, monya makes a comment in their plumbing sticky about non return valve usage on pump piping. viewtopic.php?f=8&t=428#p8878 I've searched the forum for similar info, but I can't find anything. Does anyone know if there is an alternate appoach to keeping your pump outlet pipe full of water, and hence, primed. e.g. using some type of U or S bend trap? cheers, Luke |

Hi I am not sure why you would not just use a none return valve or check valve. If you try a bend or something like that it will not prevent a vacuum from the line. The only alternative I can think of is called "flooded suction" where the pump is positioned below the water source. Cheers Paul |
