Hi. Can anyone please help with some information on air pumps. I would like to know if anyone can recommend an air pump and also whether it is possible to buy airpumps that have battery backup, AC/DC air pumps.

Is there a general rule of thumb as to how many Lpm of air should be running through a 1000L fishtank. I am currently running the water from the growbed back to the fishtank which creates a certain amount of air in the water, but want to add more to be sure there is enough.

Any help or pump recommendations would be welcome.
Thanks

A few of the regulars in this forum recommend the O2 Plus, but would the 4000 model (which puts out 2100L/hr) be too large for a 1000L tank?

No such thing as too much air.

I tend to size my aerators to suit the amount of water pumping I do.

4000lph water pump, gets a 4000 lph air pump.

If you have a system in a backyard environment where you want to enjoy it and see your fish, you do not need a huge air pump. All our systems here had very good DO levels just from splashing water and very small air pumps (350L/h).
