| Post subject: | Timers for Indexing Valves |
Hi All I am wondering what others are using as a timer with indexing valves? I just installed my indexing valve (4 way) but couldn't find a digital timer which would allow me to run my preferred on/off cycle of 14mins/1min. Using this cycle I would be flossing the grow beds, of which there will be four, once every hour. Instead I am currently using a mechanical timer on a 15 on/15 off cycle. Of course this means that each bed is flooded for 15mins of each 2 hour block. What are others using? What's your flood & drain cycle? Cheers Shane |

Many of us are using a 15 minute pumping cycle and a 45 minute drain cycle Austbodhi! That is 24/7. (not using indexing valves, as all beds are irrigated at the same time in our systems.) |

thanks Faye. Thats the cycle I am hoping to run. The indexing valve is designed to get me around the fact that my sump wouldn't have sufficient volume to fill all the beds simultaneously. Perhaps an X-10 controller would allow the increments I need... |

Do a search for repeat cycle timers. I use one that's on for six min and off for 30sec. |

Thanks for the tip. I went to a local electrical wholesaler with that name and it appears that they'll be able to juice me up... Cheers! |
