I've got this length of fencing I plan to use as a fishtank cover but I'm not sure if it's galvanized or not.
any experts here who knows their fencing?
If it is galvanized , what is a safe paint to use on it?

thanks in advance

due to an inherent design flaw I have the pipes over the lip of the IBC so I can't simply lay the cover on top

here is the fence laid on the IBC
I suppose I have 2 choices
1. simply cut a hole in the fence to accommodate the pipes
2. make a frame to sit above the pipes

I am leaning towards option 1...

I'd add stainless wire to the list gaffer tape, and cable ties to hold the world together.

I love wire.

I think it was Archimedes that said "Give me a length of stainless wire and a big enough screw driver, and I'll move the world (or at least hold all it's crap in place in a big storm)".

Or something like that.

Even if it's galv, From the number of people who run galv IBC frames that would drip into their systems, I'd say that not being submerged in FT water means it should be fine. But I wouldn't take any notice of what I say because I have no idea on such things.

Still, sometimes it's nice to be reassured :)

Just cut out only the bits of mesh that foul on the pipes,
as the lid drops down, the pipes will close up the gaps in the mesh.
