I hope to set one of these up soon. I have been researching them for a while, and have just bought a 35W air pump.

I will set it up, take photos and tell you how it all goes if you like. I have been meaning to set up the AP system for yonks, with an IBC sitting out the back, but no time to do anything.

As far as I can tell, the main advantages are:
1. the pump can never run dry as air pumps do not need water running through them.
2. As well as pumping, it also aerates the water.

We shall see if it is efficient or not. I will calculate the water flow at a certain head height and see how it goes.

Your water output will be dependent on your design, riser dimensions, blower air output and operating pressure (submergence + lift).

For maximum water output, rectangular riser dimensions are critical.
