Hello:
We have Sketchup import capability in VectorWorks (the CAD program that's developed by the company I work for) now, if any of you could email me your models I would like that. I can use them to test the Sketchup import feature and play with renderings of the models.

Just posted one of my experiments... might not be what you are looking for, but it would be interesting to know if it gets there and you are able to open it. :)

Robots, now it all makes sense............. i am so careful with my email addys, i always use a dedicated spam one when signing up for things........if i correct that robots crawl web pages much like googlebots, but for the purpose of gleaning email addys for spam purposes?

if so then that may explain some things

Hi Steve:
I read somewhere that email addresses are most often spammed because they showed up on a web page, and not so much for other reasons.

Dave.

I have 2 problems with the beta thought you'd want to know this stuff.

1. Lag. Add half a dozen windows, or shadows to anything large as a house - oh dear, even crashed on me.

2. Components. I have a huge component library but can only access the sampler via sketchup.

Hi AD:
Beta? Is that available on their web page or something. Note that I am not an expert in Sketchup, you have probably three times as many hours on it as I do (I have used it for maybe 2 hours total?).
1. If it slows down or crashes it is probably the video card getting full. Do you have a pretty modern system, video-wise? More VRAM would help a program like this that is heavily dependent on the card.
2. I don't know how they limit the free version, but this may be one they've put in. Have you tried the models on the 3D warehouse?

Here's a link to the 3D warehouse, you can type searches for different objects just like a web search:

Why haven't I seen this thread until now? That program kicks ass.

My vision of using two tanks, one in the other now has better vision. Needs some floaty plants, a sprinkler head, and to show piping just below top lip to beds. Happy camper admiring his work, no extra charge:)
