how bout a picture of a kind of siphon ya don't see too often anymore. But it's working.

I must admit that I do have a breather tube inside it. See the configuration of the system means that there is a trap so the bottom of the siphon doesn't drain completely freely and therefore an Affnan probably wouldn't work perfectly and I didn't feel like fussing with bells. So I shoved together the goose neck and it almost worked but couldn't quite get a good gasp of air at the end. So I simply shoved a piece of large airline (3/8") up into the loop from inside the bed and left a few inches sticking up in the bottom of the grow bed so it helps the air make it up into the top of the loop when the bed is almost drained and it's working rather nicely at the moment.
