Bit puzzled;
The photo shows from left to right;
water as it exits RFF
water as it exits 3 stage filter
tap water as a reference

No discernible difference to the naked eye but the water from the RFF was leaving the roots in the grow NFT tubes dirty
The additional 3 stage filter was an attempt to correct this. With only the water going to the NFT running through it
All water is passed through 200 ltr clay GB and RFF filter.
If I clean exchange the ‘scourers’ regularly then it would be a “ fine” mechanical filter. Yes?
if I leave it alone then it would become a bacterial filter.But would this remove the nutrients I want to go to the NFT. Er Yes?

Ummm so you are already filtering through RFF, 200L of media and then your 3 stage filter as well?


I would have thought so.


Umm if you leave it it could become anaerobic which could cause you problems with your NFT and the rest of your system.
