If you keep your fish stocking and feeding within the systems capacity to filter the solids everything is golden, no matter which system you're using. Over 2 years without the need to cleanout the growbeds and running CF :thumbright:

Yeah right, if this is what you thought then I find it hard to believe you've seen any CF systems, yet now you're an expert? - pretty lame.

Charlie I like your nonsense sometimes, it's entertaining!
First of all your interpretation of someone limitation and understanding is based upon your assumptions, so as for your view of someone's knowledge it's also based upon your quantification of time...... you do not even know how much resources someone else is investing in research or practice (Full time AP farmer in my case!)
Highlighting your uneducated ignorance it's not a professional way of appearing in public......and you are free to convince yourself and others different.
Catch up with you.... hope not! not at your level....too low for me.

If that GB in the photos was run on a F&D.... then it was poorly designed and maintained whatsoever! one more proof of your poor experience.
I will not share my opinion on how I think more solid will build up in a CF as I rather let you navigate in your own conundrum....you still think solid stay suspended in the water column forever anyway! or at least I your system.
Unlike your assumption again.... yes I've used/serviced/build both system.....actually probably even more different type of system then the average BYAPers like you.
Help me understand?...when you say the water RUSH out...can you quantify the velocity and the volume of water exiting your GB? I think that trickling water spout will not dislodge even an aphids prom the pebbles!
What happen In my F&D it's different from what you have described...in my particular design I have pressure spray bar's blowing stuff off as GB fill up in 2 minutes (700l) thus adding aeration right at the point of entrance as well as it drains the water in just 3 minutes, crating more of a shock wave in and out!
Maybe it's too subtle for you to understand as you are still stuck on your outdated information and lack of experience....... dinosaurs are extinct for a reason....the inability to adapt!

nice try...definitely nothing to learn from you.

http://bioaquafarm.co.uk/ ha.

Maybe the whole forum needs to do your courses so we have a clue?

:bootyshake:

Self proclaimed experts? this is what I'm appearing to be in someone opinion on this forum...must have some truth in it or just jealousy!

I like to teach to those who listen and have the ability to judge by themselves and the gut to admit when they are wrong, not those like you guy who follow the golden rule from the RULERS!!! like donkey!

If you run a CF with the water level under 1 inch from the top then you might want to call It DWCGB! why bother? more of the back yard nonsense!

Any more important grammar error? How many languages can you speak or write? probably not as much as me and yet you pick on two grammar error ...like they are so important to me, well probably that means you have nothing else you can pick on.

How old are you?

Like any good teacher I guess I've learned a fair degree of patience.....if I'm still responding to some post on the forum!
And I'm getting more and more used to disruptive behaviour from those with learning difficulties like some of you.
