I never did run more than 16 programs, however using 1 program from each to keep it turned on for 12 hours - then have one plugged into the other would give you 30 program per day.

As CC was eluding to.

just make sure whichever one ISNT cycling on and off at the time, is ALWAYS ON for the duration that the other cycles, then have them swap.

Not keen on putting them in series - it will reduce the overall reliability of the timers - may not be an issue if they have a great availability, though I'd prefer to avoid that if possible.

I did find that B's has an outdoor rated heavy duty mechanical timer made by Excalibur, (Timer Outdoor Excalibur 24hr Heavy Duty Eht44)

I might try one of these, or just run a digital timer with a long constant flood section during the day - been thinking of doing that anyway to prevent the shallow GB getting too hot and stressing plant roots.

I would personally trust 2 digitals over a mechanical, simply because electronics tend to either simply work or not work, theres very few intermittant problems.
