If the gh is 4m wide, a tunnel would be about 2m high.
An additional 1m high vertical riser wall would give you 3m to the peak and a working height around 6ft within 6"of the side walls.

Another option is to make the hoops longer than 180 degrees. It would make the floor area footprint a tad smaller but you wouldn`t need the vertical riser.

Kenour you can bend the tubing any way you want. If you need straight walls, just don't bend the first 2M or so. In theory you could have 3M straight sides if you wanted a tall greenhouse.

I'm planning a structure (not really a green house as I only need to protect that much a few nights a year and the rest of the time shade is more helpful) Anyway, I'm going to make an arch with cattle panels. They are 16 ft long and make a nice arch when the ends are put about 9 or 10 ft apart. Not a very tall arch so it will be up on posts to give extra head room. They are almost 4 ft wide so for a 16 ft long tunnel I'll need 4 of them and they cost about $20 each. So posts, some boards for securing the panels and the panels. Then of course whatever shade cloth, greenhouse film or the plants to climb it as living shade.

If looking in catalogues for the cheaper greenhouses, look for cold frames.

DDM the bender is bolted to the plywood. It's basically two prebent pieces of pipe with a strap at the end to hold the pipe you're bending in place. You just put the new pipe in and pull it around the bender. I got the bender from a guy in texas. Here's the link:

Just visiting the greenhouse idea again, and looking at materials to use :)

I've got a little seedling raising house that was here when we bought the property, just wondering if anyone can identify material used for the covering? It's pretty robust and going by the way other things were done around the property, it would have been done on the cheap!

Yeah that looks like it! It's very tough stuff, I think I would rather use it than transparent material. Also, as far as construction goes, I really like those greenhouses too, stop giving me ideas! :P

looks like laminated polyethylene (for US and Canada) or "polythene" -- a good supplier/info source here in North America is Bob at www.northerngreenhouse.com

This place has it on the roll, and also has some greenhouse kits.

By the looks of it, it's pretty tough!

I've requested a catalogue because none of the luddites who are selling agricultural items online seem to realise that it would be convenient for consumers browsing their site to... INCLUDE THE BLOODY PRICE ON THE WEBSITE YOU USELESS BUGGERS!!! Time and time again I've had to kill a tree by ordering a free catalogue, just upload the latest catalogue as a pdf on your site you :cussing:...
