Sorry I hate to be a missery guts, but I work as a psych nurse in an emergency department. The drug that brings most people into an ED is alcohol, a long way behind that in second place is marijuana, a very distant third is amphetamines. I see the bad side of them all of the time, and the bad side is often so bad that it's hard to imagine that there is actually a good side. Sorry.

Don't be sorry.
You are at the coalface.
Do you get many ice users?
We have an epidemic ATM.
Bad shit that stuff.
Could have contributed to a couple of murders recently.
and numerous deaths.

See I would have thought Meth and Crack would be #1, especially Meth..that sh** will just destroy a person physically and mentally. I think alcohol may be a close second, I grew up with an alcoholic father so I've seen what it can do

i guess it's a numbers game, meth might be worse but if the numbers of alcohol abuse are 100 fold more...............

Yeah it is a numbers game. Things like ice/meth can make a big mess very quickly. There was alot in the media recently about the meth epidemic but I recently went to a forum in Adelaide where we did a quick bit of unofficial research and found that Steve was right and sometimes actually does know what he is talking about  about 100 times more alcohol related presentations to the ED

Does anyone know a cheap source for confiscated hydroponic supplies?

If you look in the paper for a police auction you will often get Hydro set ups available.

We ahve an auction house here in Townsville that seems to have the same set of Hydro stuff come through evry three to 6 months.

If you buy it you WILL have the police serveling you place. It only makes sense that the cops will look at you suspiciously. I mean like the other coal face worker here (the psyc nurse) they only ever deal with the crap side of humanity.....

But with all that said it always goes quite cheaply. i might even ha=ead back that way and put in a bid now I have "discoverd" AP.

I don't know if would be bothered buying 2nd hand Hydro equipment.
1. Most of the Globes (HPS and Metal Halide) would be past there use by date.
2. There grow beds be quite small and shallow or they use standard pots
3. The pumps would be low volume
4. You sure would not want to put the Nutrients they use in to an AP system
5. most growers would use grow wool for the plants. ( not scorier or gravel)
6. On a sizable sytem where some of the plumbing might be useful except it would already cut to size and glued to suit what they were doing, otherwise it just be 1/2 inch poly

and if it was a large system these people usually steal the power/electricity required to run as any sizable Hydro system does cost a lot to run.

So the only thing I could see useful is if they use airstones and/or Fans and water heaters, all of rather cheap to purchase.

Cheers
Ron

The Globe ballasts would be fine (an they're not that cheap) the lighting fixtures would also be fine. the grow tubs might be used for some nifty growing setup for small trees.

all depends on what price they go for. Food and Fish gets the best deals of all ;)
