I was given a sequencer for a garden hose, it has 3 pairs of outlets. It would be too low flow for AP, and in any case, was somewhat unreliable in moving on to the next pair of outlets when the flow stopped and started.

Anyway, my triple electronic timer with 24 on off cycles per day and massively over-rated contacts for the current it switches, works very well, and since my pump doesn't have any large starting current it doesn't get hot every time it starts (often stated as a reason for reduced life) I expect a long life from it.
Even if one timer did fail, I'd still be pumping on the hour for 2/3 the time.

We have a fair few of those mechanical timers sitting in a box, previously used on heaters, lights etc, but we don't use them any more due to their unreliability.

Indeed... such irrigation sequencers were designed.. and rely on mains pressure to operate...

The aquaponics valve was specifically designed to work with flow... within the range of flow typically used within aquaponics systems...

I've been successfully utilising the aquaponics valve in my systems for years.... as have many others...
