yep, that's the one!
the type of plant you want to nibble on before sampeling a good friend's cooking - that way no matter what they serve you, it will taste good (well, sweet anyway). :laughing6:

hmmm, had a thought :!: - If I get at least 1 small grow bed going I could try snipping a few cuttings and see if I can grow it that way (they are not in fruit at the moment, so seed are out!)
cross fingers as it will mean that I could be posting them off to ppl!

I seem to have lost a post that i posted :(

Quote:

Although it can be rooted from cuttings under mist, cuttings generally take a long time to root and don't seem to grow as fast as seedlings. So, in commercial production, almost all miracle fruit are still propagated from seed. On large plants, it might be feasible to attempt air-layerings, or even grafting from bearing ones to seedlings, but I don't know of anyone who has tried it.

So, unless you are going to get a mister / fogger then it proably won't work. You could always take a couple of snips and express post them in a ziplock bag, its winter so they should be ok just leave a leaf or two on :)

I think the ceramic disks in these foggers are only good for about 3000hrs (125 days if fogger is going all the time). Do you know if replacement disks are available for the model you purchased.

I notice that they are available for the ones that have the LED lights, but the disks appear to be a bit bigger on the one you bought (20 as opposed to 16 - mm I assume).

Also, some of the suppliers of the LED ones supply a replacement disk and tool with the unit or for a very small additional cost.

My point is that if no replacement disks are avaialble - even though the unit only cost 26 odd bucks, it is not that great value if it has to be chucked out every 4 months.

The fogger aeroponics system I have seen was on a timer, definately not on all of the time, because while I was standing around talking with the shop owner, you could see that you could see that it was switching off and on.. Fog seeping out of the cracks............. No fog...... fog...... I think they were on maybe 10-20 minute times..

EB - I have read that about 50/50 works okay. This is probably what I will try, but all the same I expect the life of the disks to be relativelly short, particularly with the fish water.

Isn't that why we get married, so that the 'other half' can plan and we can focus on the important stuff, like aquaculture and sg1 etc :laughing1:
