If I remember what it said in the article, the supplier/installer has a limited time from thier acceptance of the deposit until they must either make delivery, refund the deposit or ASK the purchaser for an extension of the contract, and can only extend it with the purchaser's approval for a limited amount of time (no taking your money, and then leaving you on the hook waiting for delivery). We have the same situation here in the US. If you purchase something through the mail or via the internet they must deliver or refund in 30 days. Most individual states have laws addressing the issue in regards to direct sales, and require the seller to provide a definite delivery date, otherwise the contract is invalid.

Sorry, I re-read the article.

It said the seller promised delivery within X number of weeks, so he is involved in a potential breach of contract. However, most places do set limits on how long you have to wait before the contract is voided and you are to recieve a refund, no matter the circumstances.

Yep, that's one of the reasons he got nabbed Kev

Latest from the courts:

He blames it on the Chinese manufacturer for non delivery - judge refused his application for his passport to travel to China to sort it out
