Hey Ben, that is almost the same as what i use and i am 100% solar now.

My panels feed into a deep cycle battery then into an inverter and onto the air and water pumps.

Really easy and very simple.

Regards

Mate, i just used what i had, its a 300w Dick Smith jobbie that i used to use in the car.

For what i am using it for its probably a bit big, but it isn't causing any issues at the moment.

I haven't put the specs up here yet, but the details are in both the links below.

Its a great little system and works a treat.

Have you had the inverter going for long Perter? We went through 2-3 inverters when we had our last solar system outside. Gave up on them in the end and went 12V all the way, the 12V system seems to be working well, running for 17 months now without a hitch..

Hey EB,

no problems at all thus far, this one is 8 years old and used to run all my equipment in the car when i was on surveillance, and never missed a beat.

the system is a 100w panel system running 30w of water and air pumps, from a 100Amp/hr battery.

I will however keep an eye on it now you have mentioned that though.

Going to have a read of your thread, thanks very much for the link.

Regards
Jeff

Yeah go for it...

I think our interters just didn't like being out side.. They were under the growbed, so didn't get rained on, but they just didn't last for us.

Thanks Eb!

Hey Ben, These are the model i am using at the moment, really really good. Free shipping, excellent quality.

http://www.solargods.com.au/solar-shop/ ... lar-panel/

They have been running now for around two weeks and tested really well in overcast conditions here in Victoria.

We keep the inverters under the porch with the battery, these panels have a 5m cable so it works well.

Regards
Jeff
