You could eat the 400g ones - which would create more oxygen for the others?
stick a white tarp over the top to reflect the heat.
Most of mine were 300-400g and were enough for two people

I cooled my marine aquarium with an old post mix chiller I obtained from a remodeled pub.
Stainless coil (that the drinks go through) in a saturated salt bath with the copper chiller coil immersed in that.
Expensive to purchase but awesome for free. Worked a treat keeping the 2 metre tank 10' below ambient.

I cant remember what the running costs but I was pleasantly surprised as it wasnt as much as I expected as once down to temp it only came on for very short spells.
The tank was insulated on three sides and the base with stryofoam.
I used a quality thermostat to control it.

I forgot to mention that I had to use a small water pump (tiny one from an internal powerhead) in the sump to keep stirring the water up to prevent it freezing.
Saturated salt solution freezing solid, go figure

So how about chilling on the opposite end of growth? ie set up a small nursery system to handle a few months of growth from fingerling on up till the stocking tank temps drop then transfer over to the bigger system. Since the fingerlings are much smaller they don't need the huge water volume of a large stock tank, or the large grow beds, that reduces your expenditures for equipment and operating costs. Might have a bit of a problem getting fingerlings a few months early though...

If anyone in Perth is wanting to chill their water a little, we have an old water cooler you can pick up for free from the shop.. Don't know how well it would work for cooling a system, but could be worth a go, it makes the drinking water very cool...
