Thanks for all the replies everyone and the offer of some no longer un used feeders but I mentioned to the local feed store that we were thinking of making one and he said we have got one here.It was a Pondmax so we took it on the condition that if it didn't work we could bring it back.My brother has it set up and is quite happy with it.The rats would get a fright if the were trying to get into it when it is ready to dump it's load as the whole thing turns around.It will take up to 8mm pellets .
