Since March 2010 SA Water has been offering a $200 rebate on stand alone water tanks. That means if you are using a rainwater tank as a fish tank you can claim the rebate. The only conditions listed are:
- purchased after March 2010
- at least 1000 litres
- does not have to be plumbed into the house
- you must provide the original reciept
- if buying second hand it must be from a business and not bought privately
- it does not say that the tank has to be connected to the guttering
- it does not say you cannot put fish in the tank
- only one claim per household
- I guess your house has to be in South Australia
There's lots of other rebates for tanks that are plumbed into to house, but this one is good for AP. Download a form from SA Water and check out the fine print.
