Post subject:  Bunnings in Brisbane - supplement shopping trip

Hi Folks,

I am in Hong Kong and a colleague is going home to Brisbane soon. I want to get some plant supplements for my plants and would like some local advice.

I have looked around in HK and there is a lack of useful stuff to buy so I am asking my colleague to go to Bunnings for me.

I'm looking to get:

1. Chelated Iron
2. Seasol
3. Dispel

Can you locals help me out please?

Do Bunnings have these items on sale?
Any advice on what size is available?
Any pics or trade name of the product.
Are there any other items I should consider getting?

I want to make it easy for my colleague.

I have a 1000L FT with 20 Jade Perch. My colleague does travel fairly often so no need to buy too much - about 6 months worth?

Thanks for your help.

Paedur.

Yep, Bunnnings has all three... (that's "Dipel" by the way)...

Perhaps consider a small tub of "Ecofungacide" as well.... Potassium BiCarbonate.... for a pH "up" buffer... and as a foliar spray for powdery mildew... (adds potassium" at the same time...

You can buy Dipel in a packet about the same size as the chelated iron...

But you can also get it in a bigger tub (not sure if Bunnings has this)

Eco-fungicide...

Often the twin pack is better value.... (but bulkier and weightier)

Gday! Bunnings does not have the large tub of Dipel unfortunately.
Sounds like a complete list, I don't even bother with the seasol, but the others are absolutely essential

If you are purchasing Seasol make sure that it is the seaweed concentrate as the Seasol brand offer a number of products including lawn treatments, which may not be suitable for an aquponic system. I wouldn't buy the hose on packs as you will get far better value buying the concentrate and mixing yourself.

Thanks for that reminder Faye.
I am worried about getting it wrong in that way as my friend is not knowledgeable about the different products available and neither am I, so the pictures will come in very useful.

Dipel is a solid? I thought it was liquid.
