Hello,
New here and have been looking into Aquaponics for a few months. I saw this too this morning on TV in UK - very cool to see a real example and one in the UK :)

I have tried to download the footage but to no avail.

The system they covered was the one based in a shop shown in this video

This is a shop in Dalston Road,Hackney in East London, England.
They have been going quite a while now.
Some of our students have visited there to have a look.

This is the same chap that was on the BBC produced series 'future of food'. In the last episode. Worth a watch.

These guys are in my neck of the woods. Despite all appearances to the contrary there is quite a bit lacking to their setup. For one thing their costs are quite high. They are not really covering their running costs in the prices of what they sell as food. But where they make up for the loss is in their ancillaries such as the cafe and renting out the space for events. If this was purely for food production then it would have failed.

And that's pretty much the case with most "commercial" aquaponics operations to date.... most have propped up the bottom line with "ancillary" sales....

Some recent operations show possibilities of success... but the capital investments have been very large....
