Now this is what I call a "stimulus" package....

He explained that there is currently a rebate available to farmers of 40 per cent of the construction of greenhouses up to a maximum of $30 000. He added that it is also proposed that a rebate of 40 per cent of the cost of the components of approved aquaculture and aquaponics systems, up a maximum of $50 000, be introduced.

Yeah its pretty neat what our little island has done to push aquaponics.

In Barbados you first have to register as a small farmer witch takes about 2 hours and its free.

Then you take the receipts and apply for the rebate, they send someone to check that it is a working system and then you get a check mailed to you the whole process takes about 5 weeks.

The limit is Barbados$30,000(us$2=Barbados$1) or 1/3 of the project, witch ever is more.

A side note: all new residences have to be built with rain water storage by law and aquaponic systems are accepted as rain water collection systems

Couldn't agree more... it is good use of taxpayers' money.... (assuming they do pay tax there)...
