We first start with the basic history of aquaponics around the world and how it was started here in Australia. We cover different styles of systems and their benefits and variations, as well as pros and cons of different medium.

Groups are split in half, I explain the ways of how to get the most out of the plants by growing with the seasons and working with nature.
We also provide a planting demonstatration using seeds and seedlings and discuss planting densities and how to make the beds look good by contrasting plant colours of texture and foliage :)

Carl provides information about fish species, crustaceans, their requirements for optimum health and a good diet. He also demonstartes how to introduce fish to a new system and safe transportation.

Standard workshop presentation, just a new audience
We just never get tired of inducting new aquaponics enthusiasts and this group were keen.
Last month people arrived in t-shirts, this month was brrr cold, my how it changes in a month. Day time temp may have been 16 and night- just really, really cold. Oh well at least we didn't have cold, rain and flooding like yesterday when the storm front went though, lucky we aren't located in Canning Vale.

Much lower numbers than normal foodnfish, some last minute cancellations and others just changing dates. The wether was just shocking on Saturday and if that came through Saturday I think we may have had to cancel, no one could get to the front door without getting up to their calves in water.

Just finished one of the most enjoyable workshops ever. The people that came interacted very well with each other and had discussions amongst themselves during the break by the end of the workshop they were swapping phone numbers and planning to catch up again. Sharing ideas is certainly what aquaponics is all about. The feedback was good and they did not want to leave cause they were chatting with each other.
