Finally managed to get the stuff i needed for my IBC system the other day. Got the mrs to pick it up while she was down there. So now everyone i live with except me (the only one interested in AP i might add) has been there! The best i could get out of them was 'Every one was really nice and they had some fish thingys.' Ohh well. Next time maybe. Probably should have told them what they were going in to pick up, 4 bags of hydroton takes up a bit of room. Haha. Lucky they had room!

Today we had students from Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School. what a great way to start the year off. The school has a Balcony system and they are growing indoors underlight and having good results with chillis powered by goldfish apparently. The students did not know much about aquaponics so far and were asking lots of questions as they looked around the display centre.

They all got to take home information packs with magazines and aquaponics information. I wish they had an aquaponics system when I was at school, I may have been more interested in science if they had. :dontknow: Kids of today just don't know how lucky they are.

Was on holidays in Perth from Darwin last week and managed to pay the shop a visit and have a chat to Faye. Was great to wander around and look at every thing I have viewed for ages on line.
Even managed to pick up a couple of supplies :)
Many thanks for your time Faye look forward to chatting again very soon, getting very close to setting up my system now only a few weeks away.

It was nice to meet you Up North :) Always nice to put a face to a name and most times I even remember.
I just had a message through my mum that we made an appeaarnce in todays West Australian Newpaper Real Estate Liftout. For those that get the paper it is page 12, for the others here is a copy and it is about the two systems that we installed for the National Lifestyle village in Baldivis, WA after they were awarded a Lotteries West grant.

Just got back from a garden club meeting and heard from the members that they had seen yesterdays article, the one in the seniors mag and a quote from me in last weeks habitat, missed that one. Keep up the good work there Joel, I'll be checking in.

The plants in the barrel have taken off and starting to fill out the growbed. Complete kits are now available for sale with all the bits packaged, comes with expanded clay, pump, plumbing pipework and pre cut barrell just requires assembly.

Hi Matthew,
Standard 1 barrel system cost would be $234-00, this includes the barrel already cut, expanded clay, pump, plumbing and pipework. Forum members will also receive 10% discount on shop items not already offered as a special.
I recently installed a Balcony system for a friend of mine who is a few years older than 80 and she loves it. It does mean that as they get older they don't have to weed and they can pick their veges without bending over. You really are a serious aquaponicist Matthew
