Okay now that I have that on hand, I was thinking of other methods of getting water to the growbed and back in an efficient and cheap manner, as the system is too far away from the house outlets. Also, is it possible to run the thing during daylight and use only the air pump at night?

if you could find a dc pump that would meet your needs it would be more efficient.
