Hello.
What interesting projects. Was about to build something similar. But I thought if you want to sell a system instead? We are a group that keeps on with aquaponic in Sweden. We've stayed at in 19 years, and we are going to build a control system.

I fully understand that the system may not be ready to sell. We are happy techniques here so we will use your work as a foundation to build on. Of course, you take advantage of our changes and our development.

see www.rainbowfish.se and www.kretsloppan.se

Sincerely, Hugo

Side update : I tested the vibration sensors on a mockup siphon and it worked perfectly.These are a very clean and simple solution to detecting siphon activity. I'm very happy that I didn't need plan B. More sump hole digging this weekend, man am I sore.

Hey Chiumanfu, I haven't been able to find a part number for your vibration sensor. Do you happen to have that handy?

TIA!

What commands would you have to add to be able to pipe the sensor values out to the Serial Monitor?

In the latest version the entire sensor data string is sent to the serial monitor as well as to grovestreams. Line 743 in the code. If you need just specific sensor values you can use serial.print commands inserted anywhere after the sensor is sampled.
Code:
Serial.print("T1:");
Serial.println(t1Value);

No plans on selling systems at this time. Very nice website though.

Hi Pavel,

Welcome to the forum.

I found a working link on this page of the topic - Page 7 of the thread, third post down if this link doesn't work http://www.backyardaquaponics.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=22607&start=90#p482854

I'm not sure that is the most recent link but any before this weren't working. You may want to look from this page on to the present day to see if there are any newer versions.

Hope this helps.

Hate it when that happens. I changed the link above so try it again. If it doesn't work the description before it will get you to the post.

Cheers

Thanks for that Scotty.

I've tried to edit the original post on the first page but it is locked out. Maybe I should pm a mod.

Please do, this project is gold and the thread will only get longer over time, having that first post updatable will keep things sane for those wanting to follow and build in the future.

So guys I'm curious why I don't see anyone using electronics that have been out and work but don't require a electrical engineer? I use some Digital Aquatics Reef Keeper on my saltwater tank for years and plan on using almost the same setup for my Aquaponics and it's a life saver.
I can monitor Ph, Temp, pump status, Multiple timers, It connects online. WHY do guys do it the hard way?

I think because they can. Also, they can get the exact parameters they want and save money.

For some of us we would not think of buying an off the shelve solution, especially when you can get exactly what you need and have some fun learning new things at the same time.

Electronics if fun, that is it.
