Monitoring DO levels and air pump failure would be handy

As a general trouble alarm...

A web cam with facial recognition that recognises floating fish.

Just a thought based on the fact that my camera put a box around my big silver's face*:)

*it might be also worth noting that some facial recognition software I downloaded a few years back returned an enormous percentage confidence in matching a pic of my face with a pic of a bowl of Laksa.

That must have been one pretty bowl of Laksa... Was it wearing Groucho Marx glasses too?

I don't want to talk about it :)

I was going through a messy eating stage. Sometimes noodles just stick in your beard for a few days, what are you gonna do?

Instead of serviettes, why don't we use cling wrap masks with breathing and mouth holes? Or "Eating pants" to go with your bib like my {Non-specific, invisible deity that lives in the sky} Daughter used until she was three.

I want a set of eating pants.

First of let me say i am a novice at anything automated. but i do love the idea of a aquaponic controller that can be used by everyone and a few years that can be as cheap as a pump. i want to add my very basic info/ideas.

If it is to be widely used it must be easy to work with on the hardware side, what i mean is that you should be able to plug and play lots of different inputs and outputs.

I think on/off and speed control of the outputs would be nice.
logging data from inputs into a graph.
and being able to set the outputs based on the inputs or a combination of inputs is the basic requirement.
being able to set outputs based on time

the tricky part would be to design a controller that can handle most inputs/outputs that an Aquaponics system would need. bear in mind that are lots of media, fish and plant choices. I think some kind of fuzzy logic that learns the system as it goes would be better than having to manually enter what crops you are using.

I hope to discus this further with you.
