Gold coast over priced concrete jungle. We are only 85 k from Brisbane and 20 k from Caloundra in a straight line and have just as poor a service. Do not recommend the Glasshouse Mountain region if you want mobile service

Can't help over there, but in the US many of the carriers will sell you a femtocell for $200 or so. It connects to your internet and gives you a small cell phone tower for your house. You can lock it down to only work with your phones so you don't have neighbors using your internet bandwidth. They usually need to be near a window so they can get a GPS signal to tell the provider where it's located.

Buy yourself a yagi antennae of the correct band for your provider, get it high, point it at the tower. Run coax from it to a broad spectrum antennae to radiate the collected signal, or instead of that get a second yagi wired back to back with first and point that at the area you want the reception. No guarantees though. Especially with option one.
