Hi,

This is not directly related with Aquaponics, but some might be interested in how I'm monitoring my electricity consumption (demand - from grid) and generation (from a 4.0 kW Solar PV grid-tied system).

There is a web based frontend to my monitoring system which can be found at:

http://www.one-n.co.uk/solarmon/

The monitoring allows me to view live consumption (demand) and generation graphs, as well as historical graphs for previous days.

Here is a live demo graph of the current Solar PV generation (in kW):

Image

This graph image link is live/dynamic. The image in this post should be updated every time this page is loaded/refreshed. Thus the content will change and be different as time goes by. Bear in the time zone of the graph is UTC/GMT.

A diagram of the monitoring setup and what components are used can be found on the How It Works page:

Cheers,

Mon

A lot of people use pvoutput to log solar. I did originally log the consumption side but had issues with that sensor so am just logging the solar.

Hi,

I actually do have a pvoutput account. When I remember , I take daily manual readings - which I use to upload to pvoutput, but have not done this for a while.

I need to figure out the Auto upload feature of pvoutput and integrate that in to my setup.

I wanted a separate setup to pvoutput to allow me to display the data in whatever format I wanted.

Cheers,

Mon

Is it costly to get one of these monitors set up?

In my case it ended up costing me $100 to add bluetooth adapter to my SMA inverter. A lot of the newer ones have it included.
But that also let me get into the settings and logfiles which I was able to resolve an issue where the inverter was shutting down randomly.

The software I use to automatically upload, pvbeancounter, was free.
