In separate unrelated incidents, I managed to blow up both my high end PICS today.
Turns out the 2.5V device doesn't like 17V.

The other one, not totally sure what happened.
I have a high power IR LED being driven at 17V.
I think as I moved the PCB the pin of the LED (on the end of a wire) must have touched the VDD pin, because that one really did go pop.
Can't beat the smell of fried silicon.
It also temporarily removed the finger print from my left index finger :D

Nothing worse than slipping and hearing a pop noise. I have done that with a multimeter probe lol

nope, thought Id get hope from work today and see a few either dead from PH swing or even flopping around on the ground - all my little mates are ok.

Hopefully the chlorine in our tap water here hasnt killed off my nitrates.
