Anyone ever heard of it? Just received a pretty crappy photocopied sheet in the mail saying how great it was for aquaponics, hydroponics and aquariums.. Cleans your pipes, gets rid of algae, breaks down organic wastes, lowers ammonia levels, mineralizes all organic wastes, aids fish health, and more...... Quote: LYSOFOSS Ideal for fish ponds, aquariums, aquaculture, dams, etc. Contains selected strains of bacteria for biological filtration, silt, sludge, odours and algae control. Lysofoss will decrease ammonia and hydrogen sulphide production, while increasing dissolved oxygen. Decreases organic matter and sludge on the bottom of the pond, thus producing clear water and controlling algae blooms. Lysofoss can be used as a bio-filter in every pond, regardless of water condition. Application may vary according to pond condition, use 100g per 1 square metre surface area for average applications. Available in 250gm, 500gm, 1kg, 2kg. Made by someone with only a phone number and PO box "oceania research international"... Hmmm sounds fishy to me.... |

Does it smell like bleach? Bleach would solve all the above mentioned problems. |

Sounds a bit like that US product that someone was using... "Rid-X"...  Wouldn't go near it myself... ask him for a MSDS sheet... Actually, I wouldn't go near any product that's sold by a business that only lists a PO Box number.... And the only other references I could find on "google"... were online "auction" type sites... There is a product call "Lysofos".... but the MSDS for that is truely horrifying... don't know if it's the same stuff.... |

Hmmmm, I don't know what it is... all the data I can find seems to be negative... they want me to put it into the fishtank that I eat from...NOT! I don't think so! If there is no assurance that it is safe, I for one see no real reason to use it. After all isn't that one of the prime reasons we all have been drawn to aquaponics in the first place? We just don't want to have that kind of stuff in our families food! Uhhh Okay, no more soapbox...Honest. Joe

Has pictures of a cat, dog, bird, horse, roo, fish (and hampster) and says no more smells...looks like carpet cleaner to me. Seriously though...do people really have pet kangaroos? |

Yeah we don't have dogs or cats here.... Only pets you can get are Kangaroos and wombats...

I used to ride my pet kangaroo to school. Walking was too hard as it was up hill both ways!

We have got a couple of big Red Kangas, we normally ride them to town on shopping days, and put the groceries in their pouches

I know a few people with pet kangaroos. I had a very affectionate emu named Gwen.
