Q: When does Harbor Freight usually put their greenhouses on sale? The smallest can go for as little as $249 on sale, right?

Hi Dave,

That price you gave sounds about right for one of their better sales. I can't tell you when, but they put these on sale several times a year - like right now (online - $349). The current sale isn't all that good but they do have a 20% off coupon that comes in the Sunday paper that is in effect at the moment. Between the two you would be looking at less than 300 (around 280) if you went to the store got the online price and used the coupon. I think if you're willing to wait you can get a lower price but I'm not sure.

I think some people get coupons via email so it might pay to check that out.

I got the 10x12 a few years ago. I think it's around $600 when it's on sale. I usually get a 20% coupon in the back of my This Old House mag.

I don't have a physical store near me, so is the coupon only good at the physical store?

BTW thanks for the info!

My local store tends to honor the coupons in addition to the online sale price. The coupon usually states that is not good with any other offers - don't know of anyone who has gone the online route to try, wish I knew.

I've purchased both at a store and online with the same coupons. However there have been a few cases where the item in the store had a coupon and it has an item number of "A", if you look up the exact same thing on-line it has item number "B" and the flyer I got in the mail wouldn't work. For the most part, I've used the generic 20% coupon in either place it it's worked.

If you can't find a printed coupon, you can usually find one on-line at the various coupon places. Just google "harbor Freight coupon" and you'll get a bunch of hits. :thumbleft:

Just got an email from them for 20% off, expires today LOL. Not ready to get the greenhouse yet, I would like the 8x10' one instead of the 6'x8' one, or may build to suit instead. Actually they aren't listing an 8'x10' anymore, hmm.

I thought they had an 8x10 also...looks like they upped it to 10x12.

My local harbor freight is having the 10X12 go on sale for $699 March 17th throught the 21st. The 6x8 is $299 on sale so it looks like they may have upped their prices or this isn't the best one (this one is on sale March 11, 12, and 13 (a 3 day sidewalk sale). I have the 6x8 and like it but would recommend the 10x12 because the larger you go the easier it is to control the temps.

I got a "The Family Handyman" magazine at Walmart based on your suggestion about the This Old House magazine, because it has a 20% off coupon in it. But it's only good for the brick and mortar store.

Well today I found other emails from them in my spam filter, for 20% off coupons through the 19th.

I had decided not to get a 6'x8' greenhouse because it would be hard to fit in a trunk I imagine, but now to get it online, hmmm...

Dave, you can also find coupon codes and printable coupons online. Look for the 20% off any single item super coupon. Unless of course you find a better one :D

PS - I just found a coupon code for 20% off till at least 3/22/2011 I'm not sure what the restrictions are but the code is 20TOOL

Yep once I started looking I found them pretty easily. They started sending them through email and a guy from work dropped off a flyer that has one in it too. I'm not getting one of the greenhouses but someday I'll buy something from them. I have my eye on a chipper shredder to make wood chips and then charcoal with. :D
