hi aaaalllllll! I'm looking forward to having a good read through everyone's posts & seeing how your systems are progressing. That'll be a good bit of fun & excitement!! YAY! :D :D

heheheh... I'm glad that it's not just me who's running around like a chook with their head cut off... phew!!!

I was thinking of moving to Adelaide, but who knows what'll happen. I'm saving my pennies like mad, & will be looking at getting a valuation on my place sometime in the early NY... see where I'm at with equity etc etc. *rolls eyes* ;)

I'm struggling at just keeping the few veggies & herbs that I have alive in my courtyard, let alone buying all the equipment etc to start up an AP system right now.. Hopefully, I can get something in place before it gets too cold here, & it can sit around a bit over the winter & then i can start it up next spring...

If I'm still in the ACT.. ? Who knows... I don't think I'll be leaving any time tooooo soon though. Things keep changing all over the place! I think I might just be going a little more crazy than I already am!! hahahhaha!!!

Is there a really good reason to move to Adelaide? I know that house prices are up right now, so, I'm not sure now would be a good time to buy there... but are they still going up... Does anyone think we'll be hitting a recession anytime soon? So many questions, so little money.. :P ;)

Hey PK,

House prices are certailnly not going down here. Demand areas are still steadily rising. One good thing though, there is no fruit fly, and less politicians here! LOL

Stay cool

Mmm... Does anyone think we'll be hitting a recession anytime soon? So many questions, so little money..
I think we have two years to get things right-or were in the shit.! bluntly
I am sure the ecconomists are blushing right now-
Looking at a few key indicators -- the millionheir factory. the financier for some high rollers isnt doing the trade it wants!

my completely un-educated un-scientifically based opinion is that we're looking down the barrel of a recession. And all the people who took out 100% home loans are going to cry, literally. Don't get me wrong, i feel for them, but seriously, what did they think was going to happen when they got 100% finance on a loan that could barely be serviced by two incomes at current interest rate plus maybe 1% or 2%?

Equities mate..... yeah right... Interest rates are going to soar and there will be some unhappy people... All it would take is either income to be lost either loss of job or sickness (god forbid) and it would be very tough I think...

We are look at a scary future... Low Average Perth homes are around the $300K mark... at my current wage, deducting living expense, I would take me a long time to pay it off, maybe 20+ years at least...

The trend is house prices are increasing but our salaries are staying put... unless you are a CEO... or a Principle.... :) (don't read this boss). I plan to invest as much as possible, save and get a head start early... then most people say that... :)

Ah Tim my lad, a great plan to be sure to be sure.

And thank goodness you have the opportunity to work, you'll certainly need to in order to repay your Hex fees.

I am however concerned with the prospect that after expenses you are planning to invest and save.

Apparantly and obviously you are currently being over-payed and/or under taxed.

Subsequently I have arranged with your boss to immediately offer you the choice of accepting an AWA at a minimum rate of $12/hr based on a 50hr week without penalty rates, holiday pay (or indeed any provision for holidays at all, as obviously if you could afford to take holidays you could afford to either pay more tax or repay your Hex debt faster).

Further you will be required to give at least 24hrs notice if you're even thinking of being unable to attend work due to a death in the family, your own death, attempted suicide, general illness etc.

No further training will be provided to you during the course of your employment and you will from this point on be expected to make your own provision for superannuation and retirement, excepting of course your premature death in which case the above provisions apply.

If of course your should choose, (and it is your choice) not to enter into this agreement then you are obviously an un-Australian, "pinko", bludging, Islamic terrorist with absolutely no knowledge of Australian values or history and totally devoid of any understanding of the concept of a "fair go" and deserve to be relegated to dole queue, which by the way we will be curtailing very shortly.

I would strongly suggest that you heed the words and wisdom of our esteemed vertically challenged mono-browed leader of the free world (opps, sorry George - forgot my place) and bloody well lift your game.

"Two years and we are in the shit"
I dont know about that but what I do know is Kalgoorlie is going off at the moment,Population wise and economic.
Which in turn is driving up the housing prices and rent and building sector.
There are that many jobs on offer here that a friend of mine in the labour hire business, is flying people in from all around Oz just to meet demands(anyone wanting work and has trade pm me & I`ll put in a good word).
India seems to be buying most of the gold atm for jewllery and china the nickle(probably for stainless steel).
One of the mining companys is opening up a new mine(nickel) north of Kal with a 95 year life (apparentley) and from personal experience the Geo`s usually cut a third off the life to save face later if they are wrong!
All in all if we have a recession in two years I will be suprised

PS hi PK hope ya doing well.

Yeppers, do it do it do it... There are ways & then 'there are ways' of investing. I'm going to keep going upwards & onwards with my property investment... I'm not crazy, just want to do what I can with my money, using the system to get me further... It's not so hard, you just have to research, get some good knowledge in your noggin & get a good broker... I'm still working on the last two (particularly the broker bit... )..

If there is a recession, & house prices go down... I'm still in a good position financially IMO.. it's a bit of a gamble, but then again.. not really. It's hard to explain... hehehh

Being a public servant helps a fair bit right now. I'm in the Union. I don't really see major changes happening TOOOO quickly in these parts (but of course, I could be wrong).. Hopefully people with vote & things will change :!: :!:

The thing to _attempt_ to predict is when booms start & end... get in at the wrong time, & things go pear shaped. One day, I'll get lucky.. fingers crossed

Anyhoo... good to see that discussion & thought is well & thriving here!! heheheheh... 8) :D

ROZ, I am hoping the AirForce will pay for most of my UNI fees. :) I have been investing a bit too. Bluechip has been pretty good for me... I haven't touched any of my current casual job money for about 24 months, just letting it earn intrest...
