(This has been posted over in the BY Farming forum as well as a warning for those guys!!)

Recently I recently ordered a packet of Swiss Chard seeds.

After planting them in a hydroponic set up they grew very rapidly.

However, things have now turned for the worse. I noticed many different colorations and patterns on the leaves and then decided to do some research.

The plants not only had chard leaves but also had tomato, cucumber, spinach and two types of lettuce growing within it.

You can see why I was alarmed by looking at the photos !!!!!!!!!

Confused I decided to phone the seed company.

After explaining my problem, and the look of the plant, they then realized the mistake they had made.

They had accidentally sent me a pack of Swiss ARMY Chard.

During our conversation they explained that it was a multi functional plant that was very tough but needed a growing PH of absolute neutrality. The produce taken from the plant was ideal for fishing, camping and hikes into the mountain.

Also, they explained that there were many imitations out there but none stood up to the high standards of the original Swiss Army Chard.

As a means of compensation for my troubles they have agreed to send me some more seeds on the Alpine Retreat, oops I mean house.
