Has anyone is australia (pref. perth) tried the 100 mile diet? it is a sustainable solution that attempts to source all food from within 100 miles of your home. I was just wondering is anyone has done it succesfully in such a large country

Might be hard to do it totally, but should be able to supplement a large percentage of your diet for local food. If you buy local veg, local meat, local olive oil, etc, you can cover a lot of the basics. Some harder ones in a place like Perth would be rice, flour, and other things that just don't grow locally, bananas, pineapples etc. I guess these are the things you would have to give up as part of the diet. You may be able to buy a bag of wheat from a farmer within 100 miles of Perth. |

Love the look of this place, http://www.spencersbrookfarm.com.au they are out near York. 1/4 of an organic, free range pig for $175 sounds like good value.
