News wrote: Australians will go to the polls on August 21 after Julia Gillard pulled the trigger for the first winter campaign in more than 20 years and asked the people to give her a mandate to move the nation forward. Well we have to do it, for the international members voting is compulsory in Australia and you get around $80 fine for not doing so August 21st, sure I had something on Lets have a BYAP Poll, as mine will be the first vote it will be obvious that I voted Nationals as they do a fair bit for Regional Australia |

It is a hard one Nocky. I just watched the speaches for the up comming election between Abbott and Gillard. I can't stand the thought of Abbott running our country....but she had no policy except to move forward !!! Where does she want to move us all too Can you tell I follow Larry Oaks...The man should be our priminister |

greens for me... they may not have the answers...but they stand up and keep the other parties thinking.. also it is a bizzar system that allows my vote to be counted twice... as the greens wont get enough votes... it allows my second preference to be counted.. and i loved bob brown shouting down george w.... go bob!!! |

Normally a Liberal voter but can not come to voting for Abbot. Will be voting for Gillard at this point in time. Still a long way to go till polling day. Want to see what a female priminister can achieve this country, lord knows we've given the blokes long enough! And most likely the greens |

I'll probably go with labor in the house of reps, Julia cant be any worse than anyone else, but the greens will get my vote in the senate. There could be a lot of green senators this term. I'm historically a labor voter (student, so education has always been important to me), but I might have voted Turnball, but I can possibly, in good conscience vote for abbott. On top of his misogynistic and racist nature, I simply don't like the aura that surrounds him. |

Looks like Greens are going to be in charge come August.... I wish. Like so many others it seems, I'd rather vote for a dancing walrus than see Tony get into power. |

Labour as my primary vote in the House of reps.... with the greens as second preference... Totally because there's no way I'm prepared to return to the "Howardism" of the last decade.... or worse under the snide, snickering, religiously bigotted mad mouskateer... Greens in the Senate... all the way... |

Sheesh what a choice: A religiously bigotted wingnut or a Back stabbing bloodnut... I put independant in the poll only because I don't like the thought of just turning up to cross my name off. Can't bring myself to vote for either of the major parties any more, and the greens are a little too green these days... H. |

Gillard is a Puppet and the country will be run by whoever pulls her strings, Abbott is a clown so we are screwed really because either one of the 2 will be in the chair, don't think the other parties will poll enough to win anything major, I suspect that Gillard will win, mainly because she is female and different, Even though we only have a few votes here, the result so far is consistent with major polls, labour and Greens in front and Libs a fair way behind |
