Post subject:  A belated and heartfelt thank you

This is the first time I have been on a forum with so many card carrying citizens of Oz, so this is long overdue,

back in the 60s when I was younger and so was the world I was on the first plane load of Vietnam troops to hit Oz for an R & R.

A long overdue thank you to one and all.

The rest was needed, it got kind of intense leading up to the trip, many of us kind of slid off the plane to the ground on landing, an Aussie brother of a mate who served with us met us and we flew in-land about 3 hrs to a nice town in the NE, where as my buddy says we stayed knee walking belly puking smashed for 8 days.

I only know that as hearsay.

I arrived with something like $200 in my pocket, I left with about $100, didnt buy a bite, and almost had to fight to buy a round,

It was a great and wonderful time, and as I said badly needed for an attitude readjustment.

So thanks mates, you talk funny but you're all a bit of the alright.
