I missed it as I was out of the room, but my wife said that the couple from adelaide had some sort of aquaponics type setup with yabbies in it. Did anyone see it? |

You're not the only one. I'm a qualified chef and I watch it pulling my hair out. |

Embi, was just 3 blue barrels interconnected, standing on end with a reticulation system. Didn't look like they were growing them there, more like holding tanks to keep fresh. I thought they needed to do a bit of time management in prep of the food. Anyhow thats probably the script they had to follow. My choice for winners, cant beat Italian and Greek cooking. Judges comments of no flavour, is this correct????????????????????????????? |

I only watched 10 minutes of one show then gave up.... Cooking in the backyard using 3 camp ovens on a fire and all the heat had gone, so he was chopping more wood, trying to stoke the fire to get more coals.. Has anyone been watching the gourmet farmer on SBS? I've really enjoyed that, you can watch all episodes online for free, without adverts.. http://www.sbs.com.au/shows/gourmetfarm ... /Episodes/ |

Gourmet farmer is the only show I enjoy at the moment. Tassie looks pretty good. There was a great doco on the japanese obsession with fish on sbs the other week. They fish with rods inside some restaurants for their meal and have fishing ponds at train stations that operate like video games, ie each fish caught is worth 'x' points, if you get a certain amount of points you get extra fishing time. Anyone see it? it was a great watch. |

I watched that too, very interesting.... Though I have to admit that the bit about eating the raw snapper fillets while whats left of the fish was still kicking was a bit gross. |

They must have sashimied that snapper pretty quick thats for sure. My daughter just came back from a school trip to japan and told me some of the local shopping centres have above ground swimming pools inside that people can pay a few bucks and have a fish. Something for dad to do while the family shops?? Not really, it attracts all ages. They catch and release back in the pool. Its just something they like to do for recreation. |

Would "fruiting up" the names mean we'd have to pay 4 times as much??? |

I would love to move to Tassie and have a go at doing the farming thing. |
