WD had a confrontation with a lawnmower and the lawnmower won! Leaving WD without the tops of three fingers of his right hand.
OH tearing her hair out - then to crown it all - one of the supports under a grow bed collapsed dragging two other beds down with it causing the plumbing to be ripped out - and the tank to pump dry with a loss of 200 rainbow trout. Not a nice thing to find at 7am in the morning!

WD has now been banned from going anywhere near ANY machinery!

We shall rebuild all the growbeds when we have recovered and restock.

Holy crap guys!!

At least the Trout were not too big....unless that is a really big tank :(

What were the supports made of? Is it those A-Frames?

Yes - 3 -A frames under each growbed - the sudden hot weather we are experiencing obviously caused the heavy duty plastic to distort plus the weight of everything .We have learnt our lesson -so the next setup will take the weight of growbeds into account - probably concrete blocks and timber.

Sorry to hear of the mishaps, bad things always happen in three`s so thats all of them hopefully, fingers, bed collapse and lost fish. Wish WD a speedy recovery (i guess Rowena is posting for now) and hope everything is back on track for you very soon.

Thanks for all your kindness. We are going to be very positive and redesign the collapsed set up incorporating strong support, better harvesting space and a series of float switches to minimise future problems. As WD says " there still five fingers and two thumbs left" so we are better off than some.
Thanks again.
