Our thoughts and best wishes go out to everyone who is in areas of California affected by the wild fires.... Stay safe, and if need arises... be prepared to evacuate early... recent experience in Australia shows just how quickly and fatally fire can move... destroying not just homes and memories... but lives and families...

When I saw news coverage of the South California fires, it brought memories of how many Australians lost their lives, others injured and many more lost their possessions in the fires in Victoria early this year. Please do not let this happen to you! Please ensure that you have adequate preparation of your property, a fire defence plan and an evacuation plan which allows you to stay safe. As our Fire Control Officer here said at a meeting of residents in our (rural) area, "Leaving Early means not being at home on days of Extreme Fire Hazard." Spend the day where a fire will not cause risk to your life and the lives of your family. Stay safe, Tony |
