Hiya folks
As some of you already know, I have a large dedicated Fishroom in which I keep and breed fish for the aquarium scene.

Well for the last 2 weeks I have been keeping one of my Cyphotilapia sp. frontosa 'Tanzanite' females who has been holding a mouthful of eggs.

Well today was stripping day for the female and here are a couple of pics to show the result.

General Details:
Number of Fry 25
Condition of fry: Good
These fry are F1 from wild caught Cyphotilapia imported in 2005. 20 adult fish were imported to Sydney and I was lucky enough to be able to get 5 of this original stock. Since that import, no other 'Tanzanite' frontosa have been allowed into the country due to civil unrest in the Rift Valley Region of Africa where the home of the frontosa is Lake Tanganyika.

You mean to say the mother was still holding the fry at that size????

Yes mate, she looks to be a good brooder, most others I have had to strip early and tumble the eggs, but this female held for just over 2 weeks and I thought descretion to be the better part of value and decided today was strip day for her and the fry.

Now I have to keep the food and water changes happening to get the best possible growth rate from the little guys [That way I can get the $$$ for the ap beds :wink: ]
