I don't know if this is serious or not, but it would be interesting if it was. I thought I'd pass it on. Will Allen of Growing Power in Milwaukee, WI has been nominated for the job of White House Farmer. Will demonstrates and teaches urban agriculture and AQUAPONICS. You can vote for him to be the Whitehouse Farmer – the person who cultivates and grows organic vegetables on what is now 5 acres of white house lawn. The voting closes on Jan 31. Right now Will is in 3rd place (out of 100 nominees). To vote, go to: http://whitehousefarmer.com/ He is the only nominee, so far as I can tell, that uses aquaponics. I don't see any restrictions on who can vote, so even if you are not from the USA, give it a shot. Lord knows enough illegals and dead voted in the last election. No reason we can't stuff the ballet box for a good cause. |
